Youth committee

Mission:

Youth committee was formed in March 9th, 2021. The mission of the committee is to research, plan, and execute programs and events to bridge the gap between Nepali generations.

Objectives:

1. To promote Nepali culture among Nepali youth in WA (specifically greater Seattle area) – working hand-in-hand with the cultural committee.
   • Develop personal and interpersonal skills and develop experience of working with a wide variety of people.
     • Enhancing leadership development among young people.
   • Cultivate and retain interest of the youth towards our Nepalese community.
   • To promote youth-to-youth communication.
2. To provide support, professional guide, and aide to Nepali youth.
   • Develop a strong network to promote health and wellbeing.
   • Provide support for those transitioning from Nepal to the US.
3. Inclusivity among various youth groups within NSS.
   • To ensure we provide an inclusive environment for ALL Nepali youth; not just those within NSS.

Recent Projects :

Nepali New Year video – 2078 B.S.

On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2078 B.S., the youth committee collaborated with our cultural committee to make a New year special video with the message of urging everyone to get Covid-19 vaccinated as soon as possible. The team reached out to many members of the Nepali diverse community and collected video messages of new year
wishes.
