Nepal Seattle Society Membership Policy
I. Introduction
Welcome to the Nepal Seattle Society! We are delighted that you are interested in becoming a member of our non-profit organization. This membership policy outlines the guidelines, fees, benefits, renewal and responsibilities associated with membership of the Nepal Seattle Society.
II. Membership Types and Fees
Lifetime Member
Donation: $200 (one-time payment)
Eligibility: Open to individuals over 18 years of age.
Benefits: Lifetime members enjoy full access to all Nepal Seattle Society events, programs, and voting rights in society matters.
Family Life Time Membership
Donation: $300 (one time payment)
Eligibility: Family membership covers the primary member, spouse, and dependent children under the age of 18 living at the same address.
Benefits: Family members are entitled to participate in all Nepal Seattle Society events, programs, and voting rights (2 votes)
Family Membership (Annual)
Donation: $15 (annual fee)
Eligibility: Family membership covers the primary member, spouse, and dependent children under the age of 18 living at the same address.
Benefits: Family members are entitled to participate in all Nepal Seattle Society events, programs, and voting rights (one vote).
Individual one-time Membership
Donation: $10 (annual fee)
Eligibility: Open to individuals of any age.
Benefits: Individual members have access to Nepal Seattle Society events, programs, and voting rights (one vote).
Student Membership
Donation: $5 (annual fee)
Eligibility: To qualify for a student membership, an individual must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited educational institution. Valid student ID or proof of enrollment may be required.
Benefits: Student members have access to Nepal Seattle Society events, programs, and voting rights. Student status must be verified annually.
III. Membership Application Process
Interested individuals can sign up for membership at NSS website https://nepalseattle.org/login-2-2/
Applications should include all required information and, if applicable, proof of student enrollment. Once the application is received and reviewed, membership dues must be paid in full to activate the membership. Membership is granted upon receipt of payment and approval by the Nepal Seattle Society Membership Committee.
IV. Membership Validity and Renewal
All membership types except Lifetime Memberships are valid for one year from the date of activation. Membership will be auto-renewed and amount for the selected membership category will be auto billed every year, unless renewal is canceled by member by logging into their account.
Members will be notified of upcoming membership renewal dates via email. Members are responsible for renewing their memberships before the expiration date to maintain their active status and benefits.
V. Membership Benefits and Responsibilities
Benefits: All members, regardless of membership type, are entitled to the following benefits:
Access to Nepal Seattle Society events and programs.
Voting rights in Annual General Assembly.
Networking opportunities within the Nepal Seattle community.
Membership Responsibilities: Members are encouraged to actively participate in the organization by attending events, volunteering, or contributing to the community in a positive manner.
VI. Code of Conduct
Members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct during Nepal Seattle Society events and activities. This code of conduct includes respectful behavior, inclusivity, and compliance with any specific event guidelines.
Consequences for violations of the code of conduct may include warnings, suspension of membership privileges, or membership termination, as determined by the Nepal Seattle Society Membership Committee.
VII. Privacy and Confidentiality
The Nepal Seattle Society is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. Any personal information provided by members during the membership application process or through their participation in society events and programs will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
The Nepal Seattle Society will not share, sell, or distribute members’ personal information to any third party, except as required by law or with the explicit consent of the member.
Members have the right to review and update their personal information held by the society and can request changes or removal of their data at any time by contacting the Membership Committee.
VIII. Grievance and Dispute Resolution
The Nepal Seattle Society has established a procedure for addressing member grievances and disputes in a fair and transparent manner. Members may contact the Membership Committee to initiate this process.
IX. Meetings and Decision-Making
General meetings of the Nepal Seattle Society will be conducted in accordance with established rules and procedures. Members are encouraged to participate and may propose agenda items or motions for discussion.
X. Termination of Membership
Membership in the Nepal Seattle Society may be terminated for violations of the organization’s code of conduct or for any behavior deemed detrimental to the society’s mission and values. Members have the right to appeal such decisions.
XI. Amendments to Membership Policy
The Nepal Seattle Society reserves the right to amend this membership policy as necessary. Members will be notified of any changes in advance.
