Sep 30, 2003: Addition of 2 new BOARD OF DIRECTORS and Dashain 2003 Party Reminder
Dear all NSS members,
Our present NSS executive members recently had a meeting on September 14, 2003, which was chaired by President Mr. Ravi Rana
and vice present Sita Gurung. We discussed to add two more Board directors, which is consenting by executive members on this week.
The main reasons for adding two more board of directors are, we, the new NSS executive committee, would like to have various
representatives from different parts of Seattle area and we also would like to see more people getting involved in NSS activities.
Moreover, we expect to get different and useful ideas from our Board of Directors. Following are the newly selected
board of directors for the NSS:

Just to remind you our entire NSS member, we are celebrating this year’s dashain party on 18th of October and all our
Dashain party committees are working hard to bring out the excellent party. We are still looking for the nice venue for the party. We will be
informing you all with the detail information about the party on the coming email by Friday Oct 3rd.
Note:
NSS also would like to let you know that all our NSS members are welcome to use the equipments that we have, such as music
equipments and others, on your special events. However, to benefit our society and the association, NSS will
be able to let you use those equipment with certain charges. Please contact our NSS representative for our low rental price
and for terms and conditions.

On the 16th of August 2003, The Executive Committee had a meeting under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ravi Rana and the following were the
decision taken as under.
1) NSS Executive Members nominated the following Board of Directors for a period of two years.

Lake City way. Good news! Thank you Mr. Bijit Giri for succesfully acquiring approval by Federal Government 501c3 tax rebate.

(4) Northwest Summer Picnic
We will be hosting this year Northwest picnic 2003 inviting guests from Portland, Vancouver and Idaho. We have divided responsibilties for the
picnic committe members to make a grand success. We like to welcome anyone who wants to be involved this committee. We’re still short hand for
voluntary to NSS summer picnic 2003 so far the voluntaries are:-

May 9, 2003 : Post Nepali New Year 2060 Party Meeting Report

First of all, we would like to thank all the guests artists, local artists, volunteers and other guests (both from inside and outside of seattle area) for the successful Nepali New Year 2060 celebration party.
The board of directors of NSS called a post new year 2060 party meeting at Mercer Island, WA on May 4th 2003.
The agenda of the meeting were:
1) account income/expense of the New Year 2060 party
2) account NSS financial activities of the past 2 years in order to hand it over to upcoming NSS committee
3) discuss about upcoming NSS election and other issues
Invitations were sent to Current Executive Committee, the members of the future Executive Committee (inclusive of the three Presidential candidates), the New Year 2060 party organizing committee and the Election Committee. There were 3 board of directors and 7 members of current executive committee present in the meeting in addition to 7 other observers.

The current NSS executive committee will present the financial report of 2 years within 2 weeks (by May 18th 2003) to the board of directors.
3) discuss about upcoming NSS election and other issues
The meeting decided to request for withdrawal of resignation by Mr. Tirtha Khanal from the post of President. Mr. Khanal accepted the request and resumed the post of NSS President until the election is held.
The meeting discussed the NSS election issues and decided to continue with current election committee. The decision was reached to hold election of NSS President on June 15th 2003 (Sunday) unless 2 out of 3 Presidential candidates withdraw their candidacy. The detail email about the voting will be sent to NSS voters by NSS election 2003 committee soon.
