Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) recently conducted 8 weeks long (April 2, 2011 - May 21, 2011) Nepali school in Seattle, WA. This is known to be the second consucutive year of Nepali School successfully held in Seattle, WA.
The goal of the Nepali School was to promote Nepali culture and heritage in the Nepalese community living abroad. The Nepali School curriculum included instruction in read/write Nepali alphabets, numbers, verbal communication in Nepali, short storeis, songs and dance, as well as some fun games. A total of 21 students (Abhilasha Khanal, Akanksha Khanal, Amishi Stocker, Angela Sherpa, Anusha Sri Sharma, Arvin Shrestha, Diyanka Laemmle, Jamling Sherpa, Mahima Gurung, Marbin Shrestha, Medha Dhital, Nawang Sherpa, Neeva Shrestha, Numa Giri, Saunjay Stocker, Shristi Hamal, Subha Dhital, Supriya Laemmle, Susan Acharya, Yangje Sherpa, Yeshe Sherpa) were the participants to the Nepali school. The school was conducted by 6 dedicated and tireless volunteers teachers (Kalpana Sharma, Bandana Shrestha, Ruby Shrestha, Nabita Khanal, Ashish Dhital and Prakash Dhamala). The graduation ceremony was conducted at the Gene coulon Park, Renton, WA on Sunday June 26, 2011 among the Nepali Seattle Society members.
Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) has a strong belief that by helping our children on understanding of Nepali language and culture will help to keep our customs and traditions alive and help us to set an example of the best community in the US.
